Summer Book Trek Reading Challenge!

If you’re a reader, this is the challenge for you! Last year, I read dozens and dozens of books on my Kindle, but I didn’t keep track of them. This year, I’m keeping track of Goodreads, and I’m on my way to bust my personal goal.

This reading challenge posted on the New LDS Fiction website just makes reading more enticing with the cool prizes (click on the images above for the links). And you don’t have to be of the LDS faith to enter. Here’s the link to the points page: Rack Up the Points!

So, what will I be reading? I don’t usually plan my reading list, but here are some of the books I might be reading in the next month:

The Newport Ladies Book Club: this is a series that follows the lives of four friends. They’re not so much sequels, but concurring stories, from what I understand. I got Paige and Athena at the LDS Storymakers conference in May (and met the authors), and will also try to read Olivia and Daisy. The first one of the second series is set to come out next month, so I have a lot to catch up. Paige was a finalist for the Whitney Awards.

The Grecian Princess, by Nancy Campbell Allen. It’s the third in the Isabelle Webb series. I read her Love Beyond Time series years ago, and loved it, so I’m very excited to start this new one. I also met the author at Storymakers, and even got her autograph for my autograph book.

Spinster’s Folly, by Marsha Ward, which was also one of the Whitney Awards’s Finalist for this year. I had the pleasure of rooming with Marsha Ward at the hotel for the conference (it took place in Provo), and had a delightful time. She writes historical Westerns.

Maybe this is a very ambitious reading list, since I’m in final revisions for The Secret Life of Daydreams, and I’ve started my second novel this past week (eek!). You can follow my progress on Goodreads (link under the site banner/header).

Happy reading and Happy Summer!
